Driving from Chambery Airport to Peisey

(Approximately 1.5 hours): On leaving Chambery airport turn onto the N201 following signs for ALBERTVILLE (initially also sign posted GRENOBLE). Continue following the ALBERTVILLE signs eventually turning onto the A430. Once at ALBERTVILLE follow signs to MOUTIERS and the N90. From MOUTIERS follow the road towards BOURG ST MAURICE (see below).

Driving from Geneva Airport to Peisey

(Approximately 2.5 hours): On leaving the airport follow the green signs for France. These signs lead you, via the motorway/dual-carriage way, to the Swiss/French border. Once past the two custom posts follow signs in blue for the auto-route marked GRENOBLE, ANNECY. Leave the auto-route at Junction 16, ALBERTVILLE. Once through the peage/toll-booth follow the green signs to ALBERTVILLE. Just before reaching ALBERTVILLE start to follow signs to TARENTAISE, CHAMBERY (this route bypasses the town centre). Then follow signs for MOUTIERS, TARENTAISE. From MOUTIERS follow the road towards BOURG ST MAURICE(see below).

Driving from Grenoble-Isere Airport to Peisey

(Approximately 2.5 hours): Grenoble airport is 29 miles north west of the city, just north of the little town of Saint-Etienne-de-Saint-Geoirs. The airport is 8 miles (13 km) from the A48 autoroute; drive via ALBERTVILLE and MOUTIERS. See www.autoroutes.fr.

Driving from Lyon Airport to Peisey

(Approximately 2.5 hours): On leaving the airport follow the green signs for CHAMBERY and the A43. At CHAMBERY follow signs for the A430 and ALBERTVILLE. From ALBERTVILLE you need to follow signs to MOUTIERS and the N90. From MOUTIERS follow the road towards BOURG ST MAURICE (see below).

Once en-route to Bourg St Maurice

After approx 15 minutes you will see a right turn for PEISEY-VALLANDRY. Take this and follow the road upwards towards the resort. Once you see the signs for PEISEY (Chef Lieu) turn left into the village. Follow this road for approx 300m; the road then splits: straight on or sharp right. Take the sharp right (it is one-way). Follow this for 200m. Once you see the Boucherie and Boulangerie, look for a space to park. The apartment is just after the Boulangerie, on the left, nestled between the deep pink house and a large white Chalet (PH1). It is behind a stone garage, on the first floor, up an exterior stone staircase.

Note: Do not attempt to drive to this area via the Mont Blanc tunnel. All mountain passes from Italy are closed in winter and use caution with Sat Nav systems as they may try and direct you this way.

By Rail

Driving from Calais

From Calais it is about 640 miles to Peisey-Vallandry. There are two auto-routes/peages that can be taken. These auto-routes are toll roads, and payment can be made by credit cards or Euros.

Route 1
From CALAIS follow the A26 towards REIMS and onto TROYES. Follow the auto-route towards and around DIJON and join the A6 at BEAUNE towards LYON. Get onto the A43 at LYON towards CHAMBERY and follow the auto-route to ALBERTVILLE. Follow the N90 to MOUTIERS. From MOUTIERS follow the road towards BOURG ST MAURICE (see above).

Route 2 (only use in the event of any problems with Route 1)
From CALAIS follow the A26 then A1 to PARIS. Follow the ring road onto the A6 towards LYON. On to the A43 at LYON, towards CHAMBERY and follow the auto-route to ALBERTVILLE. Follow the N90 to MOUTIERS. From MOUTIERS follow the road towards BOURG ST MAURICE (see above).
